CLIENT: Star Live
LOCATION: UK
Star Live has a long heritage in live music, particularly in festival staging, and 2025 was a busy year. We were asked to document four major festivals: British Summer Time in Hyde Park, London; Lido Festival, Victoria Park, London; Parklife Festival, Heaton Park, Manchester; and All Points East, Victoria Park, London.
Our focus isn’t on photographing the artists — it’s on the stages themselves, the unique design solutions Star Live creates to bring each performance to life, and the incredible, hardworking team behind it all. Technicians, riggers, producers, engineers, and logistics professionals work tirelessly to deliver an unforgettable experience, and we make it a priority to showcase their skill, dedication, and energy alongside the staging. Capturing striking images and producing case study videos that highlight Star Live’s staging, hospitality, and seating solutions is our main goal. Where possible, we also capture dynamic shots of the stages in use or close-up artist photos to provide additional context — always respecting event and artist guidelines. A friendly chat behind the scenes often goes a long way in getting the shots we need.
For most festivals, we visit multiple times — during the build, when the stages are show-ready, and on the live day. Arriving early and leaving late ensures we capture the construction, the final result, and the stages in action. Festival sites are massive, and covering multiple stages while producing both stills and video can be a challenge. That’s why we work as a multi-person team, seamlessly integrating with the crew. From rainy days in the site hut to long hours in the sun, we’re there for whatever it takes to get the shots the client needs.
Working on these events isn’t just about photography — it’s about being part of the team, understanding the flow, and helping tell the story of the build and the live experience. It’s exhausting, exhilarating, and always hugely rewarding.
