After 35 years of playing in bands, I’ve recently started making the occasional appearance at open mic nights in Northampton and Milton Keynes.
The Sunset Lounge is Newport Pagnell’s premier open mic night held every Thursday in the back room room of The Cannon pub in the middle of town. These events are the perfect place to practice the live music aspects of event photography. It’s an atmospheric room if a little freezing at this time of year. I’m always surprised at the talent and variety of acts that take to the stage. Newbies and and professionals alike. And always an encouraging and supportive crowd.
