02 Dec Duston Village Main Road in the cold

I managed to drag myself out in the freezing cold today for a walk around down and around my local high street of Duston, just on the northern edge of Northampton.
It’s a very old village indeed and the more you look, the more you can see just how ancient this place is. Although I’ve lived here for 5 years I’ve never really ventured much further than my local Tesco. Shame on me.
The imaginatively named Main Road is home to a very good pub indeed The Squirrels. It’s very smart inside with friendly staff, a great atmosphere and live music every week. Goodyer Travel is the opposite. It turns out that I am related to the owner. Small world. Also, you will find Perkins the Florists, Punch Opticians, Woodcock and Thomposn Solicitors, Duston Village Bakery, a Your Move, a Jackson Grundy and a Taylors estate agents, Nationwide Building Society, Spice Indian Restaurant, Barber Jo barbers, the Number 50 Tea Room, the award-winning fish and chip shop The Duston Chippy, Duston Cobblers, an RSCPA and an Extra Care charity shop, Coral the bookmakers, a One Stop convenience store, Super Shop newsagents and off license, Alfa & Omega Barbers and Hairdressers, the United Reformed Church and St Lukes Church. What else do you need?
Maybe you need a friendly event photographer? In which case please do drop me a line any time. I cover corporate functions, public events, private parties, sporting occasions, weddings and more.
