Anna’s 40th Birthday Party

Ah, the life of a birthday party photographer. The thrill of the unknown, the anticipation of meeting new characters, and the excitement of capturing unforgettable moments. When my good friend Anna invited me to photograph her 40th birthday party at the Squirrels, our local pub in Duston, Northamptonshire, I knew I was in for a treat. Little did I know that Princess Margret of Kent, Britney Spears, and even Axel Rose himself would grace us with their presence. The stage was set for a night of dancing, drinking, and 90s nostalgia.

Being of a certain age, the nineties hold a special place in my heart. The music, the culture, indie tunes, and the unmistakable vibe of an era that first inspired me to pick up a camera. So, when the familiar beats filled the air of a Northampton pub, and figures resembling Britney, Axel, and Princess Margaret made their grand entrance, it was a surreal flashback. As an event photographer in Northamptonshire, capturing these celebrity doppelgängers amidst the neon lights and euphoria was a delightful challenge. It made me wish I’d embraced the fancy dress code with as much gusto as the guests.
